The book is excellent. Easy to find the bird and its song. A pleasure to sit on the porch and mimic the birds.

bought this for my 9yr old who asked for a bird book to identify north american birds, what better way to do it than by sound as well as sight.
I also thought this would be interesting. It has gone everywhere with her including school and is a big hit.

The cover of the book is very easily marred. When I received the book, which was a gift, there were many scuff marks on the front and back cover that could not be removed. Also, the bird sounds were not as realistic as I had hoped. I expected them to be more lifelike, but some of them sounded almost digitally produced, not recorded from real birds.

Purchased Bird Songs for a gift. When opened, the LCD screen that indicates which song is being played did not illuminate. Consequently there was no way to identify which bird song went with which bird. Returned to Amazon for replacement. 3 1/2 weeks later still waiting for replacement to arrive.
This looks like a very cool concept.
Just need to get a working model to see for sure.

This idea of a book was ruined by the fact that you have to know the bird call and the bird to hear it. OK for a kid to listen to,once, It has sat on the shelf for 6 months-unused
