I had a difficult time deciding whether or not the bar spacing would be close enough to keep my two young parakeets in and the cat out. It is PERFECT! The quality of construction is very high the birds love it. If you have a parakeet that needs more room – this is THE cage for you to order. This cage is fantastic!! my lovebird is the happiest shes ever been!!! it was originally for a larger parrot but we did not get it so my love bird is now a hapy happy little bird
