My boyfriend loves this and so do I. It has shed a new light on an old sport.

I found this book to be very confusing. It is organized alphabetically… which makes no sense. There is no way to know what you need to know until you know what you need to know. It should be called the Bird book encyclopedia. A much much better book is the Audobon Backyard Birdwatcher. This book is not very colorful or engaging. I returned it.

I own over a dozen books of this genre that are resources for the back yard birder. (Most of the others reviewed as well here on Amazon by me). I would have to rate this particular book as the very best that I own. Its very informative, very interesting, and covers just about everything clearly and precisely one could imagine in the world of back yard bird feeding. Most of all it does not get bogged down and spend a lot of time and pages describing the different variety of birds as so many other bird feeding books do. Its very reasonably priced, and with free shipping a downright bargain. The highest of recommendations.

I don’t often like books organized A-Z but Sally’s writing style was so enjoyable I read the book cover to cover. This is my first year feeding birds in my backyard and I picked up lots of great info on birds, seed and flower preferences, habitat and design. Alot of fun projects came out of reading this book. Thanks, Sally!
